New Meal Plans Starting in Fall 2008

Campus Dining Services, in collaboration with the Executive Officers of the Student Government Association and the Association of Residence Halls, have created these meal plans in an effort to provide attractive options that meet the needs of the entire university community. In order to create these plans, research was conducted of institutions with similar demographics and those with meal plans of interest.

In addition, students, faculty, and staff were surveyed regarding their needs related to campus meal plans as well as given an opportunity to provide feedback on all aspects of the recommended plan. Feedback from all groups has been considered and incorporated where possible.

One of the major advantages to the new meal plan options is the focus on sustainability. While carry out is available, disposable containers do not support campus sustainability efforts. Therefore, you are highly encouraged to dine in rather than carry out whenever possible.

    No limit to the number of meals available throughout the semester.

  • Traditional Meal Plan
    A specific number of meals per week which expire every Sunday evening if not used.

  • Block Meal Plan
    A specific number of meals to be used any time throughout the semester and expire at the end of the semester.

*All students living in the residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan each semester.

Choose Any Dining Center

Regardless of the plan you choose, you may dine in any of the three residential dining centers:

  • Watterson Commons, adjacent to Watterson Towers
  • Southside at Feeney, located in South Campus (Atkin-Colby, Hamilton-Whitten);
  • Marketplace at Linkins Center, located in Tri-Towers (Haynie, Wilkins, and Wright Halls).

Please note that there is no dining center located in East Campus (Hewett-Manchester Halls); East Campus residents tend to dine at Watterson Commons located approximately one block away.

Dining centers are open continuously throughout the day from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekdays, with slightly abbreviated hours on weekends.
